World leaders and celebrities gave their support to the victims of the Orlando shooting. Omar Mateen walked into an LGBT nightclub, Pulse, on June 12, 2016, and killed 49 people and injured 53 others.

Mateen was a self-radicalized terrorist who, according to his former classmates and co-workers, expressed homophobic, racists, sexists, and pro-terrorists views.

The Orlando police officers killed Mateen during the shooting rampage at the nightclub. British Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted that he was “horrified” by the attacks and that his “thoughts are with the victims and their families.”

India Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his “thoughts and prayers” are with the victims and their loved ones.

Mexico President Enrique Pen҄a Nieto sent out his condolences as well. Nieto tweeted that he “deeply regrets the violence in Florida” and that he stands in “solidarity” with the victims and their families and the “American people.”

Leonardo DiCaprio, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Sofia Vergara were among the many celebrities who showed their support to the victims of the Orlando shooting.

DiCaprio tweeted that everyone needs to “stand together against hate and intolerance.” “The Rock” tweeted that “we will rise and preserve,” while Vergara tweeted that the shooting was “sad, unthinkable.”

Also, on June 12, 2016, during The Tony Awards, a moment of silence was held and the show was dedicated to the victims of the shooting.
